EASE Elite Makes Their MADE Hoops Debut at East Coast Warm-Up

History was made this past weekend as EASE Elite officially stepped onto the MADE Hoops Challenger Circuit for the first time in program history, kicking things off at the East Coast Warm-Up in Manheim, Pennsylvania, hosted at the iconic Spooky Nook Sports Complex.

The event brought together some of the most elite grassroots basketball programs in the country. Heavy-hitters like Team Durant and Team Melo were in the building, along with a surprise courtside guest—former NBA star Baron Davis, who was there supporting his 8-year-old son playing against 14-year-old competition.

EASE Elite has spent the last two months locked in, preparing for the intensity of this next level of competition. While there were many unknowns heading into the weekend, the athletes showed they were more than ready to compete with the best.

17U Squad Sets the Tone

Leading the charge was our 17U team, who set the bar early with two impressive wins. They outlasted a savvy Philly Elite squad 80-71, followed by a hard-fought battle against a physical New Jersey Blue Chips team, pulling off a 57-51 victory.

In the final matchup, EASE faced a long and disciplined Next Level team. Despite being undersized, EASE fought tooth and nail, coming up just short in a 68-66 thriller. James Willingham had a chance to steal the game with a deep three at the buzzer, but it fell just short.

When asked about the teams showing, Coach Dollar said,

I think there were some questions about whether we were ready for this, and I think we answered those questions. I couldn’t be prouder of the boys. They competed and showed that they belong here against all bigger and stronger teams. Can’t wait to see the progression of this team from this opportunity”

Standout Performers:

  • Terrence Marble (17) - A fearless guard who attacked the rim relentlessly and hit big-time buckets.

  • Jesse Lynn (16) - Brought elite energy and defensive pressure off the bench.

  •  Brandon Cook (15) - Dominated the glass and protected the rim all weekend.

15U Shows Potential, Learns Valuable Lessons

The 15U team opened strong with a commanding 45-23 win over East Coast Prep. They battled in a tough overtime loss to YSU Elite (36-40) before running into a buzzsaw in Cecil Strive, resulting in a 43-18 loss.

Coach Dollar reflected,

This team has all the pieces, but I think we need to become more mentally prepared. There’s a lot going on at tournaments like this, and it’s important to stay locked in. It was good to see where we’re at, and I’m confident our coaches will address what needs fixing”

Standout Performers:

  •  Carmine Walters (15) - Steady and reliable across all three games.

  • Aaron Riley (15) - His relentless effort on defense stood out every possession.

  •  Neahman Grandin (15) - A dominant presence in the paint on both ends.

14U Takes Their First Test

Our youngest squad, the 14U team, was baptized by fire in their first out-of-town tournament. Their opening game was a rough start, falling 43-11 to Central PA Elite, plagued by turnovers and poor shot selection.

But after an intense team talk from Coach Larry Walters, the group responded. They battled tough in a close game against New Jersey Blue Chips, losing narrowly 51-45, and ended the weekend in another tight contest with GRC Wolfpack, ultimately falling 44-38.

Coach Dollar acknowledged the adversity, saying:

This was a test for them. We didn’t have the highest expectations, but we did expect improvement—and they delivered that. This experience helped them grow, and they’ll be better because of it”

Standout Performers:

  • Marcus Ham Jr. (14) - A key scorer whose outside shooting was vital all weekend.

  • Troy Williams (13) - Played with unmatched passion and energy

  • Chase Nelson (14) - Held his own physically, battling taller opponents with strength and toughness.

Looking Ahead

The East Coast Warm-Up was a statement weekend for EASE Elite. From gritty wins to hard-earned lessons, every team gained valuable experience and insight into the level of competition on the national stage. This is only the beginning, and the journey through the MADE Hoops Circuit is sure to bring more growth, more battles, and more opportunities to rise.
