Updated: Apr 11

EASE Elite’s basketball season is officially underway, and it’s already shaping up to be an exciting journey filled with growth, determination, and resilience. With two teams competing in The King and Queen of the ROC tournament in Rochester, NY, EASE Elite showcased their talent and commitment on the court.

The 15u squad came into this tournament with high hopes, despite starting off a bit rusty with a close loss to Xcrossover. However, they quickly found their rhythm, bouncing back with three consecutive victories to secure a spot in the championship game against the formidable City Rocks team. In a thrilling matchup characterized by relentless defense and strategic offense, EASE Elite emerged victorious with a commanding 76-57 win. James Willingham, a standout player for EASE, was honored with the tournament MVP award for his stellar performance, leading his team in scoring, assists, and three-point shooting.

Reflecting on the team’s impressive display, Director of EASE Boogie Dollar expressed his satisfaction, emphasizing the hard work and focus exhibited by the players throughout the tournament. Despite missing key player Brailon Johnson, who is sidelined due to illnes, EASE Elite demonstrated depth and determination, setting the stage for an exhilarating season ahead.

Meanwhile, the 14u boys’ team gained invaluable experience in their inaugural tournament appearance. Despite a tough start with a loss to an experienced franchise team, EASE Elite rallied to secure a comeback victory against PDR Elite. However, their journey came to an end in a rematch against franchise, despite a strong first-half performance. Coach Tre Dollar acknowledged his team’s potential but emphasized the need for sustained energy and focus throughout the game, highlighting areas for improvement as the season progresses.

Looking ahead, both EASE Elite teams are gearing up for the next challenge at the upcoming showdown in B-Town in Brockport, New York. With lessons learned and spirits high, EASE Elite is poised to continue their pursuit of excellence on the basketball court, fueled by dedication, teamwork, and a relentless drive to succeed.
